Looking for a more convenient and long last solution to keeping your horse blankets secure and in place? This is the answer! Tail cords are used on winter blankets, sheets, rain sheets, and even some coolers. Just make sure the blanket or cooler has metal D rings where you would normally attach leg straps. Tail cords are meant to be used in place of leg straps. So ditch those old and worn out straps!

What makes tail cords better than leg straps? I'm glad you asked!
1. Safety- Now I cannot fully ensure that you're horse cannot get hurt using these, because as we know.... they are amazing at finding ways to injure themselves. But design wise, there is far less of a chance of your horse getting a foot stuck in these. It's near impossible due to the location of the cord. The cord also has plastic hooks which would break under pressure.

2- Longevity- Tail cords last much longer than leg straps. I was getting a good year or so out of straps and it was frustrating. I now use tail cords and they have lasted for years now and are still going strong! They do not get stretched out and abused like leg straps. Because they are never really under pressure, you can assure they will last year to year!

3- Hygienic- The tail cords come with a flexible PVC tubing covering the shock cord inner layer. The tube protects the shock cord from wear and from poo! This makes cleaning a breeze! Usually, USUALLY, poo doesn't even stick to it! It just falls right off. No more dingle berries!

4- Cost- This is by far your best route cost wise. Leg straps are cheap, but replacing them every year or even more than once a year gets costly. These should not need replacing for many years.
