If you never played Super Mario 3 in any form this upcycled wood cut out may makes zero sense to you, but if you ever got a hold of Kuribo's Shoe... you know this mood well.

When I found this piece in its original form it was some sort of fake stocking(?) meant as Christmas decor for the Baker family. But then I took it home, stripped it, sanded it, primed it, and then cut out whole new pieces to complete my vision for this sculpture. Mario's head, word balloon, and the key poking out of the shoe were cut from ½ inch lumber using my jigsaw skills, which you could accurately say are super.

I then used basic pin joining to securely attach the new pieces to the wooden shoe. The difference in the pieces' thickness makes a nice dynamic that emphasizes the weight of the shoe. Once everything was attached I painted the front and the edges, then sealed it with several coats of satin polyurethane spray.

I've put a small sawtooth hanger on the back for easy hanging in your game room or office, but Mario could just as easily lean in a corner and keep watch for any koopas, middle management, or solicitors that need stomping!

This will ship in a secure cardboard box with olenty of reinforcement and padding so Mario makes it safely and in one piece!
