Helmbold 16mm Distressed Mohair Fabric in Frosty Brown is a wonderful fabric for making teddy bears.
Frosty Brown is a gorgeous mohair fabric from Helmbold with 16mm, distressed, medium dense pile. The distressed pile gives it a slightly shaggy look, great for making vintage, traditional style teddy bears. The backing is a milk chocolate colour with a soft white pile which gives a fabulous contrast when trimming back around the muzzle.
This mohair fabric is made from natural fibres: the fleece of the angora goat woven into a cotton backing on traditional weaving looms.
This mohair fabric is available in pre-cut sizes of 1/16m and 1/8m pieces (the width of the roll is approximately 140cm including the selvedges and, therefore, 1/16th is approx 25cm deep x 35cm wide, 1/8th is approx 50cm deep x 35cm wide).
A good thread match to this mohair is Gutermann Cotton Thread – 513.
