This is a wonderful piece from 19th Century - a hammered copper pitcher / urn / water jug.

Lots of rich brown patina, along with areas of oxidation yielding blue and green colors.

This is in its found condition - washed only with mild soap and water to remove the dustiness. It sits very level and it is sturdy and heavy - holds water without issue. There is some staining on the exterior along with just a few shallow dents. The interior bottom is rough, but does not interfere with its functionality to hold water.

The large, rolled handle is highly magnetic suggesting a metal other than copper or brass. There is a yellowish hue present under some lighting across the midpoint, so there may be a brass content - I am not an expert in metal components. The bottom rim has been soldered, and there are a few patches of soldering around the exterior. These areas are all smooth and non-magnetic. No marking as to its origin is present.

A very large, beautiful piece with a large and elegant presence, even with the rather primitive construction.
