It's as described - roughly finished (hence the "Item Quality" rating). I'll give the handle some sanding love and maybe some linseed oil. The blade is exactly as it looks in the pics. Arrived sharp and oiled. Don't forget that you'll need to dry and oil it after use or it will rust quickly...same as any non-stainless knife (or look up 'forced patina' for help). I think it'll make a great addition to my kitchen and will get used often when that shape blade is needed, but I'm curious to see if it'll be needed more than I initially thought because I'm finding myself using it a lot.
