Here is her story:
Judy a lifelong lover of crafting, was born into a family of skilled seamstresses. Her mother, a hardworking factory worker, spent her days hemming shirt tails for men before moving on to sewing pockets into men's trousers. Despite her busy schedule, Judy's mother still found time to sew beautiful garments for her family and instilled in Judy a love of needlework from a young age.
As a child, Judy was always fascinated by the intricate dance costumes her mother sewed for her dance recitals. Her mother's skill and attention to detail were a constant source of inspiration.
It was during a summer vacation with her grandmother at the age of 10 that Judy first discovered her passion for crochet. Her grandmother handed her a crochet hook and some white yarn, and taught her the basics of the chain stitch. From that moment on, Judy was hooked - she loved creating lacy, delicate pieces that she could give as gifts to her family and friends.
As she grew older, Judy's love of crochet only continued to blossom. She found that the act of crocheting was meditative and calming, and loved to incorporate lots of bright colors into her work. Like dancers who learn to love music, Judy found that crocheters learn to love color - each hue evoking a different emotion or feeling.
Today, Aunt Judy is known throughout her community as a talented and skilled crocheter. Her beautiful doilies are prized possessions, and she continues to create new pieces every day. She is grateful for the skills passed down to her from her mother and grandmother, and takes pride in the fact that she can carry on their legacy through her own craft.
