This basket has been hand woven by highly skilled women artisans in Rwanda. The core fibers are made with grass, then wrapped in sisal. This intricate work starts by weaving the strands together, then wrapping them from the center to form the shape.

Each piece is tagged with the actual artisan's name at the women's cooperative in eastern Rwanda. This is a functional piece of art, which is safe to use with food. It can be the center of attention on your table, hold fresh fruit, decorate a wall or shelf, or store your jewelry. The diameter is 12”.

Every purchase provides a livelihood to women in Rwanda and encourages the development of their skills and designs.
