This vanitas still life depicts a withering orchid, fruit in various stages of rot, and an open can of flat Apple Sidra. This piece was me examining how exploring nostalgia and food were early entry points to exploring my culture and identity, but since then, these idealized depictions have felt a little stale. Including decaying food was an exciting transition away from idealized depictions in my past work, an evolution mirrored by a trio of butterflies. This piece was part of a triptych I created for a group art show in LA’s Chinatown in November 2022.

This is a print of a digital artwork. 11” x 14” print will be packaged in a cello sleeve with a chipboard backing and will be signed on the back. Multiple items may or may not be mailed in the same package.
