A very beautiful example of the pigeon breast ruffled corset covers of the early 1900’s, that helped create the classic “S” bend. The ruffles were a popular addition to corset covers to make the bust look more full. This corset cover is made of a very fine natural colored silk with pointed lace insertions at the back, and rows of lace trimmed ruffles at the front. The corset cover has hook and snap closures down the front.

Condition: this is being sold as is— the lace is in excellent condition, but the silk is shattering and separating throughout. Can be worn with care, but is best for study. There is a silk band around the bottom that is coming off and will probably need to be removed, but I wanted to leave that up to the buyer in case it is used for a pattern.
