Hand formed, sawed, and soldered....

Inspirations:
Art Nouveau era inspired, botanical pendant.

Materials:
Sterling Silver
Stone, cabochon: Stabilized and back. Not dyed. Kingman Turquoise
Necklace chain: Sterling Silver

Technique:
Pendant: I hand cut the sterling silver setting and individually soldered sterling botanical elements to the setting in multiple layers. Hand torched copper granules were also soldered to the setting. All hand cut and formed sterling elements. An abstract leaf, botanical pattern was hand cut on the back of the setting of the pendant.
All connections are soldered for strength and longevity.
Patina/oxidation has been added to the pendant.

Measurements:
Necklace, sterling silver, foxtail, 20 inches in length
Pendant length: a touch over 2 1/2 inches in length. 1 inch at the widest part.

Sterling Jewelry Care:
All sterling silver tarnishes through a process called oxidization. This cannot be prevented but can easily be cleaned with a treated polishing cloth.
Preventive Care:
I always include a sealed plastic bag with your jewelry purchase. Storing your jewelry in this sealed plastic bag will slow down the tarnishing process. Sterling jewelry will tarnish if it is exposed to air.
Silver and the patina that I add to some of my sterling pieces will react to chlorine. Please avoid wearing your jewelry in a swimming pool or when you shower.
Some beach stones absorb oils from your skin. To remove oils from beach stones or silver, gently wash your piece under warm water and a mild, ammonia- and phosphate-free dishwashing soap.
