This is a Roman Imperial coin minted by the Emperor Maximianus Herculius between 286-305 A.D. The reverse is Genius. Maximian (Latin: Marcus Aurelius Valerius Maximianus Herculius Augustus; c. 250 – c. July 310) was Roman Emperor from 286 to 305. He was Caesar from 285 to 286, then Augustus from 286 to 305. He shared the latter title with his co-emperor and superior, Diocletian, whose political brain complemented Maximian's military brawn.Although there are quite a few extremely expensive ancient coins there are also quite a few inexpensive ancients that make great jewelry. There were millions of coins minted every year for almost a thousand years and hoards are still being discovered today with the new, more sophisticated metal detectors on the market. App. 26-28mm
