Materials: Glass

Antique Coca-Cola bottle, produced between 1958-1965. Hobbleskirt bottle with the Coca-Cola emblem embossed. Under the Coca-Cola emblem, it states ‘U.S Patent Office, 6-1/2 oz’. The bottle is green glass. The bottom of the bottle shows that it was produced by The Chattanooga Glass Company. It is also labeled ‘Mt Airy NC’ indicating it was produced for Mt Airy, NC to be distributed in that area. This bottle is in decent condition, there is not a lot of wear on the emblem as some others may have.

A little history on soda bottles, in case you didn’t know, is that glass soda bottles used to be reused. The bottles could be returned to a returnable bottle system. If you notice at how the emblem or certain other areas of glass soda bottles, they may appear worn. This was due to being returned to the returnable bottle system!
