Large old clay vase, antique vessel - black smoky Gavarets ceramics - 1950-1960. The pot was not used, but simply stored in the barn for a long time.

Gavaretsk pottery is a traditional folk black-smoked pottery fired on firewood. In the early twentieth century. In the Gavarechchyna region of Lviv, many craftsmen worked in this field, but unfortunately, with the occupation of Soviet power, the industry quickly began to decline and die. The furnaces were falling apart, the older generation of craftsmen was dying, not having time to pass on their skills and secrets of work to the young. Still, there are some who managed to pass on the skills to their grandchildren. Thanks to this, we still have the opportunity to enjoy and admire such pottery.

Used to cook food on an open fire in the stove.

The pot is in great vintage condition. The pot was not used, but simply stored in the barn for a long time. It is not recommended to fill it with water. Because the pot does not have glaze inside.
