Yakisugi is an ancient Japanese technique for preserving wood by charring it, burning it, brushing it, burning it again and finally hydrating it with oil. Due to the fire, cracks may appear, they are stabilized so they will not go further

On top of all that, this bowl is gorgeous. Spectacular centerpiece

My pieces are used for food, exhibition or decoration. The mineral oil and beeswax finish is completely food safe, if that is the case. Hand wash and dry, you have to moisturize them from time to time with oil

Each piece sits proudly atop the Nudo seal that is burned into the base, as a signature and seal of authenticity.
