What makes this pattern so realistic is the inclusion of all 8 fins and the notch on the caudal (tail) fin. And they are easy to make and look gorgeous. The felt/stabilizer fabric inside the fins makes them soft yet rigid so they keep their shape yet are extremely huggable!
Hammerhead sharks get their name from their flattened head called a cephalofoil. The cephalofoil helps with sensory reception, maneuvering, and manipulating prey. Hammerhead sharks can grow to be between 3 and 20 feet long...so this stuffed animal toy must be a pup!
The ventral side, belly, is white, and the dorsal side, back, is grey. Their eye placement gives them a 360-degree view above and below them. Hammerhead sharks have live births of 12 to 15 pups. So you may need to make your own litter!
In 2008, the great and the scalloped hammerheads were listed as endangered, and the smalleye hammerhead was listed as vulnerable.
This pattern is for your eyes only. We encourage you to give away and/or sell your finished projects.
NOTE: the diorama pictured was 100% handmade. The hammerhead is the only item included in this pattern.

There is no pattern for the remainder of the coral reef at this time. They were all made with yarn on various size pin looms.
