The initial processing of the flax fiber that I’m using was processed in a pulp mill in Spain where it was cooked, partially beaten, and bleached.

I continued the beating process and made each sheet individually with a mold and deckle. pressed the sheets and dried them.

The resulting flax paper is extremely light weight, thin and exceptionally strong (quite similar to the Japanese paper fibers). It feels like a high quality linen fabric (which makes sense because linen is also produced from flax fiber)

This paper is crisp and makes a rattly paper sound.

This is my favorite paper I’ve ever purchased. The warmth of the paper combined with the iris leaves is beautiful on its own. I’ve purchased this multiple times and get excited whenever Gayle makes up a new batch. If you’re wondering if you should purchase from this shop, the answer is yes!

I love the light color of this dyed fog abaca kozo paper. It’s not too dark for the type of art I create on it, but still has enough of a hue to make it unique. As always, the paper in this shop does not disappoint. 10/10 would recommend!
