This is a kit containing everything you need to convert your official Red Octane Guitar Hero controller into a modded guitar controller with RGB light-up frets that you can use with Clone Hero or YARG on PC, and Guitar Hero/Rock Band on PS3, PS4, and PS5! Also works on Android and modded Xbox 360s!

5x Translucent 3D Printed Frets (vary depending on chosen model)
1x RetroCultMods ZeroBoard SL with Kailh Box Navy switches preinstalled
1x RetroCultMods RGB Fretboard SL with Kailh Choc Red switches preinstalled
2x Tilt sensor
3x JST Wires for Strumboard to Fretboard connection
2-4x Lever actuated wire terminals (quantity depends on model chosen)
6-10x Extension jumper wires (quantity depends on model chosen)
6x Screws (original screws can be used instead)
6x Washers
1x 10 foot USB-C cable

Instructions will be included with your purchase!

The following are required to complete the mod, but are not included in the kit:

Screwdriver with:
-Torx Bits (T9, T10, and T6 specifically, but I recommend getting a whole set of Torx bits if you can!)
-Philips head bits (PH00, PH0, and PH1 work well)
-1/16" flathead bit (for screw terminals on ZeroBoard SL)
Wire stripper with 24-30 AWG shears (this is common for most of these tools)
Flush cutters (needed for models where case modification is required)
Some tape or other adhesive is recommended but not required

Programming and configuration is not needed for most games on PC, PS3/4/5, or Mac but can be accomplished with the programming tool listed here:

I ordered this kit for a Wii GH5 guitar and it was a bit of a struggle. The included directions were for a Les Paul and I didn't see any similar videos for the solderless kit in GH5 guitars but I could just be blind. As a result I had to use my own judgment on which plastic to cut for the shell modification. I installed the kit following the instructions video for the Les Paul but that guitar has screws on the back whereas the GH5 screws from the front, so I had to do some finagling to make the faceplate fit in at the end since the neck is no longer detachable. I accidentally ended up unplugging the connectors trying to move the neck to place it but eventually got it worked out. Also, the frets were a bit too large for the GH5 guitar and were sticking but feels great after some shell filing! The RGB is beautiful.

Very high quality and very straight forward. Had to play around with the tilt sensor because I hold the guitar weird. The frets mechanical buttons feel very nice. Overall a huge upgrade for my very used guitar.
