It brings together two things that define who we are: pure ramie — one of the most extraordinary natural fibers on earth — and the traditional Chinese handmade button, a craft technique passed down through generations in our family's studio in China.
✦ What is ramie — and why is it better than linen?
Most western buyers have never heard of ramie. That changes today. Ramie is a natural plant fiber cultivated in China for over a thousand years. It looks like linen but performs far beyond it:
— Stronger than cotton by up to 8× — holds its structure wash after wash
— Naturally hollow fiber — more breathable than linen, heat escapes instantly
— Subtle silk-like luster that linen simply does not have
— Antibacterial and hypoallergenic — ideal for sensitive skin
— Gets softer and more beautiful with every wash and year of wear
— Grown without pesticides — one of the most sustainable fibers on earth
Once you wear pure ramie, ordinary linen feels like a compromise.
✦ The Chinese vintage button
Each button on this jacket is handmade — a traditional Chinese toggle known as a frog button or pankou (盘扣). Intricate, hand-knotted from the same ramie fabric, these buttons take skill and time to make. They are not decorative. They are the soul of the garment.

My family has handcrafted pure ramie menswear in China for 22 years. Every piece takes 7 days to complete by hand — cutting, stitching, pressing, knotting each button. We do not rush. We do not mass-produce. When you buy from us, you are buying from Jo directly. I answer every message and stand behind every piece we ship.
✦ A note on sizing
Available in S / M / L / XL / XXL. Please refer to our size chart images for exact measurements. The fit is relaxed — if you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up. Message Jo for sizing help — I respond within a few hours and love helping customers find the perfect fit.

Hand wash or gentle cold machine wash. Lay flat to dry. A light iron on warm brings out ramie's natural luster. This jacket will be your favourite garment within three washes.
