About Us
Welcome to Simplicity Fireplaces, a family‑run stonemasonry company based on the outskirts of Nailsworth, Gloucestershire, nestled in the Cotswolds.

We specialise in hand‑carved solid English Bath stone fireplaces and hearths, offering a personal service from your first enquiry through to completion.

Our head stonemason, Chris, has over 40 years’ experience, including work at Oxford University buildings, Windsor Castle, and more than 30 years at the Highgrove Estate.

About The Moonstone
The Moonstone is one of our most popular designs — a beautifully hand‑carved surround crafted from solid natural Bath stone in a traditional style that suits both modern and period homes.

It provides a perfect setting for:

Multi‑fuel stoves
Woodburners
Fire baskets and open fires

Every surround is carved from locally sourced Bath stone, a natural material formed over 145 million years. Each piece contains unique fossils, shells and mineral veining, giving every Moonstone fireplace its own individual character.

The stone dries to a light cream colour. Any darker photographs simply show the stone shortly after fitting, when moisture from cutting and washing is still present.
