When will my Clachaig Candles order arrive?

Every Clachaig Candles order is carefully handcrafted, packed and dispatched from our workshop on the Isle of Arran, Scotland. We take pride in creating and delivering artisan candles made with care from our island studio. Your order confirmation will include an estimated delivery date. UK candle orders are usually sent via Evri standard delivery or Royal Mail 2nd Class, with an express Royal Mail 1st Class delivery option also available at checkout. While we dispatch handmade candle orders promptly, occasional postal or ferry delays can occur during busy periods and are outside our control. If you are ordering a candle gift for a special occasion, we recommend placing your order as early as possible.

What type of candle wicks do you use?

We use premium natural cotton wicks and organic hemp wicks with beeswax, depending on the candle design, to create a clean, even and long-lasting burn. Our candle wicks are free from lead and other harmful metals and are carefully selected to suit each natural wax blend. This helps ensure excellent candle performance while maintaining our commitment to high-quality, sustainable materials.

Are Clachaig Candles made with organic wax?

Yes. Our handmade candles are made using premium organic soy wax and pure beeswax across our collections. Our soy wax is created from renewable plant-based oils and provides a clean, long-lasting burn with excellent fragrance performance. Our natural beeswax is 100% pure, biodegradable and loved for its warm golden glow and delicate honey aroma. Each candle is handcrafted in small batches on the Isle of Arran using carefully selected ingredients, creating luxury home fragrances inspired by Scotland’s landscapes, wildflowers and coastline.

Why do handmade candles vary in appearance?

Every Clachaig candle is individually handcrafted rather than mass produced, making each one a unique artisan candle. Because we work with natural waxes and carefully selected ingredients, slight variations in colour, texture and finish are completely normal. These small differences are part of the beauty of handmade candles and reflect the care and craftsmanship behind every Clachaig Candles creation. No two candles are ever exactly alike.

How should I care for my Clachaig candle?

To get the best performance from your candle, always trim the wick to around 5mm before each burn. Allow the wax to melt evenly across the surface during the first burn to help prevent tunnelling. Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep it away from draughts, children, pets and flammable materials. Stop burning the candle when around 10mm of wax remains at the base.

How long do Clachaig candles burn for?

Burn time varies depending on the candle size, wax blend and fragrance used. Each candle is carefully tested to provide an excellent balance of fragrance, performance and longevity.

Are Clachaig candles suitable as gifts?

Yes. Our handmade candles make thoughtful gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, thank you gifts and special occasions. Inspired by the landscapes and natural beauty of the Isle of Arran, each candle is carefully crafted and beautifully presented, offering a unique Scottish gift with a story behind it.
