This unique purple thistle bud keychain is handmade using a white toned bronze metal clay. I molded an actual thistle bud during a camping trip in the Colorado mountains. The metal clay is pressed into the mold, then chap is hand cut and refined, then fired in a kiln for approximately 6 hours.
After firing, the metal is hand polished, then three coats of protective sealant are applied to the entire piece. This metal is very durable and is extremely strong, yet very lightweight.

The pendant measures approx. 1-1/4" x 3/4" and the steel key ring measures approx. 7/8"

White satin metal clay is very strong and lightweight. It is made from bronze, iron and tin powdered metals combined with an organic binder and water. It can be modeled, molded, or sculpted then when heated to a high temperature, the binder burns away, and the metal particles sinter (or fuse) into metal. These pieces are sealed with a protective coating and with proper care, will last a lifetime. Each piece is handcrafted and is one-of-a-kind.
