Genuine SEIKO vintage steel clock sailing on cruise ships in the 70s.

The history of the Seiko made in Japan clock:

Having sailed hundreds of thousands of kilometers in one of the many cabins of large cruise ships like the Atlantic ship, this clock is found on the Indian coast shipyards for a complete dismantling of buildings. Some parts of these imposing ships are recycled, other jetties, and the most beautiful things are collected and collected by the amateurs. Like these vintage gems.
Made in the 70s in Japan these "slave" clocks were all connected by electric wire in the boat to the mother clock which was located in the captain's cabin. This set the time of the boat at each change of time zone and put the hundreds of clocks on time at the same time.

This clock had originally a secondary slave connection but has been now refurnished to battery operated movement. IF you want with original machine kindly confirm with order.

The clock I received is not as pictured. The face is bright white. Not the somewhat parchment colored background in the photo . That isnt much a problem for me, but its not what I had ordered. The color of the outer rim was also not the same as in the photo. More blue than green. Also, while its great this old clock was rewired to work with a battery, it was a lot of work to get the rubber backing off and back on to put the battery in. No instructions came explaining this. Also, I know it was shipped from another country, but other clocks I had tried also shipped from overseas, came much quicker. So, not the happiest customer.
