About this room box
This fully assembled, unfinished diorama/room box is built from red oak plywood and ready for you to paint, stain, or decorate however you like. The usable interior measures 14" wide × 10" deep × 10" high — perfectly scaled at 1:12 to represent a 14' × 10' room with a 10' ceiling.

Construction details
The sides, back, and base are made from ½" red oak plywood, grade C3. C3-grade plywood is finished and clean on one face, making it ideal for applications like room boxes where the interior surfaces will be covered with décor — the same grade used for drawer sides, shelving, and dresser sides. All plywood edges are finished with red oak edge banding for a clean, quality appearance. All wood is sanded and finished with 1500-grade paper.
Tip: Search online for "how to stain or paint red oak plywood" for best results — there are many great guides available.
The top consists of two removable pieces, each sliding in and out of grooves cut into the side walls for easy, complete access to the interior:
• A ¼" red oak plywood panel, approximately 6" deep × 14½" long, which supports ceiling decoration and lighting.
• A 3/16" clear acrylic panel, 4" × 14½", which allows natural light into the interior.
The front panel is a clear 1/8" acrylic piece with a solid oak trim strip glued along the top edge for easy lifting, removal, and reinsertion. It slides in and out of grooves cut into the side walls.

Add-ons
Window and door cutouts: $8 per opening. Please contact us before ordering with the location of the cutout and the rough opening dimensions as specified by your door or window manufacturer.
