This is a one of a kind marionette made from found objects, fabric, ceramic, paper mache, wood and acrylic paint. I made this puppet in Eugene, Oregon when I founded, ran and performed in Imagine-a-nation puppet theater. I shopped for supplies entirely in dumpsters, and because I had access to the University of Oregon waste stream, I was still able to find high quality materials at the end of each quarter. We were active puppeteers. We were awarded grants and performed for adults and children on street corners with a portable stage that we constructed and used a bicycle trailer to transport. All of my puppets are functional professional performance tools. They have fully mobile bodies and articulated mouths. They range in size from 7" to 21" head to toe. This one is named 'Monster', his voice is my falsetto and he has the personality of the ancient Taoist philosopher Chaung Tzu. He was like our Kermit the frog and has suffered some breakage through the years. Always patched up on the spot to finish the show, it gives him that extra amount of character. He is basically not for sale (notice the outrageous price tag).
