Covered ribbed polychrome jar with lid "dekselvaas" Royal Delft (Koninklijke Porceleyne Fles) decorated with floral motive and bird. This jar with lid is still in the Royal Delft collection.
Handpainted.
Good condition. Lid has a small repair at left-back edge (see arrow in close-up picture) that effectively goes unnoticed. No other cracks, chips or hairlines. Crazing commensurate with age. Reduced price.
Polychrome is a multicolor decoration technique. The colors yellow, green, blue and redbrown are used. Knowledge of working with these colors originates from countries around the Mediterranean.
