This hat is perfect for summer! It is a funky hat that would be perfect for the beach, a festival or a summer holiday. This hat pattern was designed by me when I wanted to make a staple striped hat with a fun little twist ;).

This pattern is an intermediate difficulty pattern (some of my testers rated it as a beginner but the average opinion was intermediate) The technique used can take a little time to understand but after that it is pretty straightforward! I have included photos of lots of the steps to hopefully make it all easier to visualise and understand.

This pattern explains how to create a 2 colour spiral hat (with photographs) to demonstrate the techniques used. It does mention throughout how to adapt the pattern to create a 3 and 4 colour spiral hat too (mentioned next to the heart throughout).

It utilises an aran weight cotton yarn with a 5mm hook. It is a fun and perfect project for the summer :). Please note, I use US terminology in my patterns.
