Each solid hardwood frame freatures highly figured and unique contrasting intricate grain patterns and spline corner joinery. Every one I make is an individual piece of art with it's own characteristics that is sure to enhance any photo or painting.... not something that you will find in your local Hobby Lobby or Michael's craft store either.
Each piece is precisely and patiently handcrafted by myself.
None of my frames have any metal in their construction such as brads, staples, or nails which shift and contribute to wood splintering over time, and are often used by frame makers who want to use the cheap and shortcut route to reinforce the mitered corners. Rather, one of the trademarks of my frames are precision cut and wood glued miters which are reinforced with hardwood "splines" in the outside frame corners. These splines add rigidity, strength, and decoration to the frame construction, and are a sign of real frame craftsmanship. I make it a point to make them with precision so all pieces fit together with near perfection, and the piece is presented as a work of art FOR your art.
Each frame is in it's natural wood tone... no stains are used, rather, they are finished with two coats of satin polyurethane to seal the wood and add beauty.

The dimensions I list for the frame are interior measurements. The inside dimensions are at the rabbet ledge, in other words, the size of the actual mat, picture, or art that will fit into the frame. Like most professional frame makers, I add approx. 1/8" for proper fit of the glass, mat, and/or art, which also allows for wood expansion and contraction with the changes in ambient humidity. All of my frames are made to house art in either the portrait (vertical) or landscape (horizontal) aspects.
Spalted maple is a softwood, which I normally do not work with in most of my furniture projects, but for frames it's just too good to pass up, and these frames get little abuse as most of them hang on a wall or sit, only to beautifully display art. Spalted maple gets is distinctive look from being kept out in the weather for an extended time and the elements/moisture infuse into the wood, creating it's contrasting, vintage look.
