I made this Solar System Planets Mobile to my 8-years old son. And actually we made it together, because we wanted to make it exactly according real planet's sizes and the distance to the Sun. The four smaller solid planets are situated closer to the Sun and four great gas planets - farther. We aimed to match the colors on the planet by images of space photo images.
It was very interesting to explore the Space together. Well now this mobile is his favorite room decoration!

EDUCATIONAL TOOL: This mobile offers the child the opportunity to take interest in space, planets, their size, composition, and distance. So along with the child you are able to constantly discover and remember which planet is closest to the Sun, and the next. You will be able to see the relative sizes of the planets. Also, you can work together to explain, say, why Uranus is pale blue and Neptune is dark blue? And so on...
Mobile consist of 10 crochet orbs/planets: Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth+Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.
Furthermore, it is highly decorated child's play / learning environment. It is suitable for both boys and girls in the room, as it is very colorful and versatile.

SAFE FOR BABY PLAYING: This Mobile has a special feature: it is designed to be easily dismantled and back assembled. Mobile made of two crossed wooden sticks. They combine with supple crocheted rings, on which hangs crocheted cotton balls. All the details are safe for babies, so this mobile can be baby toy too: - baby can safely play with balls, touch them and chew!!!
BABY ACTIVITY: There is available one very funny activity with this mobile. Since mobile is balanced by weight so it can be screwed by hands and then it rotates in a circle around the central piece of construction. The more you will screwed up the central string - the longer it runs backwards. This is a very great spectacle for the baby!!!

MATERIALS: Hanging balls are crocheted from 100% cotton thread and none of parts can fall apart. Machine washable at 40 degrees and can be tumble dried on a low setting.
