This is a one of a kind Brown Bear.

This animal is black and white (which is the color of the clay) with a textured bodice of leaves and swirls. It has black eyes and nose.

Each sculpture has a unique look since each one is made individually by me. They are made from slabs of clay that have been textured and stamped. The face, arms and legs and feet are individually sculpted and attached to the bodice. After being constructed they are dried, then fired in an electric kiln. When cool they are dipped in a wash, then wiped off to expose the features, then hand-painted with underglaze. They are fired a second time to about 1800 degrees to fire the color into the clay.

The sculptures are made to be hung on the wall from a loop of wire attached to the backside. The wire has been pulled through holes in a piece of clay that is attached at the time of construction. They can be hung on the wall from a nail or picture hook.

It measures 14" long X 4" wide.

Such an absolutely adorable piece. The detail is wonderful and it’s just a delightful piece to have in an art collection. The hare’s face is beautifully expressive. I’ve hung it at my front entrance as a welcome symbol. When I walk by I keep stopping at it to look more closely. It was also shipped super fast and packed with care. Also, not overpacked with piles of unnecessary material. I like to have postcards and bios of the artists whose pieces I buy. She included one. I’m very pleased with everything.
