This is a lovely dish by Ernest Collyer and Pamela Nash, own studio, Stanmore, Middlesex, England circa 1960s.

They set up their studio in 1950, it ran until 1976 when they moved to Winchelsea, this piece is typical of their style and especially that of Pamela Nash, so even though signed by her husband it may be her design or work. Their pottery especially Pamela Nash's totem pieces were very influential and ahead of their time, predating Troika.

Decorated with stamped symbols mostly abstract and geometric but including a bird and possibly castle shapes. All in earthy organic tones with blue and green washes to the glaze.

A flat bottomed deep dish perfect for use as desk decor as a pin, trinket or ring dish, catch all, coffee table decor or as a display piece.

Would make a fantastic addition to any studio pottery collection and would complement any retro, vintage, midcentury, 1960s, minimalist, modernist brutalist or contemporary interior.

In excellent condition, no chips or crazing, there is a firing crack on the outside , glazed over, from production which doesn't detract.

Hand incised mark to the base 'EC'.
