Gorgeous original paper collage containing over 1,000 pieces of paper. This piece was inspired by watching great blue herons on Alki beach, where we live. Sometimes they move so slowly I don't realize they are only twenty feet away. I call it "Great Blue Heron Tai Chi".

- Constructed entirely of paper on gallery-depth cradled wood panel
- the water is a dull green found paper, with rice paper waves.
- the rocks are brown paper bags.
- the sand is the beautiful wood grain showing through
- the heron is made from many dozens of pieces of old magazines, torn and placed one by one.
- finished with multiple coats of clear matte acrylic gel
- wired to hang directly on wall, sides left natural. The last photo shows an example of the back of a cradled wood panel with hanging hardware, for your reference.
