I prefer to wash my Wayuu bags by hand, but if you want to wash it in a washing machine you should follow these tips so that the tassels and drawstrings do not lose their shape:

The first thing You can do is to spot treat any stubborn stains with a little bit of soap. You can rinse and repeat and they should help the stain wash right out in the washing machine.

To protect your Wayuu bag from getting damaged, You can place the Wayuu bag tassels and straps inside the bag before placing it in the wash to make sure it will stay in perfect condition.

You can also to pull the base of the bag down and fold it in half as it helps get a better wash in the machine.

-When you hold a double threaded bag, it will usually be much heavier than a single thread bag. About twice the weight.
