how i wish i had made a pair o' these for my daughter mini when she was but a wee thing. i'm sure if i asked now she'd try to wear these on her big toe for me but instead i'll offer them up to one o' you whose lil' girl is still a tiny baby.

i worked on perfecting these little mary janes for years and feel pretty confident in saying you can search and search and not find a pair this precious (unless of course you are like my dear friend judy who hates anything 'old').

these sweet shoes were made completely by hand - each shoe takes about an hour to make - and though they sport small antique buttons they close with a tiny snap. they were created out of an antique grandmother's flower garden quilt i found at the rose bowl flea market.

these precious little shoes of mostly purple colors are 3.5 inches long and 2 inches across the toe area. they are PERFECT for the teeny girl who needs to look like a princess and is still carried from place to place.

i'm sure this very old and long gone quilt's maker would be delighted to know their hours of sewing will live on for many years to come as you'll want to save these so your daughter's daughter can wear them...and then her daughter. they are truly precious.
