Gift wrapping and packaging

If a poster has been stored folded, it will be sent folded in a cardboard-backed envelope. If a poster has been stored rolled, it will be sent rolled in a cardboard tube. If appropriate, posters will be wrapped with tissue paper. All packaging is sent wrapped with "fragile" tape. I reuse tubes and envelopes in order to try to minimise packaging. If you have requested gift wrapping, please indicate what sort of gift it is and I will try to use accommodating paper. If you'd like a card with a handwritten note, please include a message. If you would not like the receipt included inside (there is no price information on it) please indicate.

These posters are not new copies, they're all vintage posters which will have light wear due to aging. Take note of the "Condition" category in the description. If there is wear beyond what is expected with a poster of that age, then the specifics are listed here. Common ones may be: Rough edges Light marks Folds or crinkling Paper loss etc The photos themselves form an important part of the listing for condition, so please pay close attention to photos, particularly where there is a "Condition" field. If there is no additional wear worthy of note, then there will not be a "Condition" field.

This is a beautiful original 1970s design by the Italian artist Piero Dorazio. The designs for the 1972 Munich Olympics were overseen by Otto "Otl" Aicher. His design team produced 35 sports posters of this kind to advertise the games, using the official design colours and also including the logo and "München 1972". The design team used a technique called "posterization" for the graphics on the posters, separating the tonal qualities from the images in a manual process and using the official Munich colours for these games.
Dimensions: 40 in x 25.2 in (101 cm x 64 cm)
Condition: there is a small poked hole in the middle, but there is no paper loss, see photos.

The posters were displayed all around the city of Munich and around the Olympic sites. Posters were hung in twos alongside posters designed by famous artists.

Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn or stained. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the vintage charm.

When framed these colourful and detailed posters, with vibrant colours can become a centre piece for any room, to remind us of a simpler time.

These posters are sent as unframed. They will be delivered in a cardboard tube for protection.
