Can I order a custom size, finish, wood or hardware?

Yes. Every piece is built to order, so no two are exactly alike. If you'd like a different size, finish, wood or hardware, message us before you order and we'll send a no-obligation quote. Because every order is made for you, we can't accept returns, but you can cancel within 24 hours of placing your order.

How long does my order take, and how does shipping work?

We aim to finish every order within the processing time shown on its listing. If a delay ever comes up, we'll let you know right away. Shipping to the lower 48 US states is included in our prices. We ship with UPS or USPS, whichever is most economical for your order, always with tracking. Every order is insured for its full value. Large pieces are boxed and padded with rigid foam. For Alaska, Hawaii and US territories, please message us for a shipping quote before ordering. We can't ship to PO Boxes. If you're in Michigan, we can arrange local pickup or delivery.

Will my piece be exactly the size I ordered?

We build each piece to the size you order. Solid wood moves naturally, so a finished piece may measure slightly larger or smaller, usually less than 1/4", if at all.

Yes, a one-year limited warranty. For one year from delivery, we warrant each piece against defects in our workmanship under normal indoor use: a joint that separates, a door, drawer or hinge we installed that stops working properly, or a finish we applied that peels, flakes or bubbles. It covers the original buyer of a piece bought from Farmhouse Urban Design and delivered in the United States, and doesn't transfer to a later owner.

What happens if a covered defect shows up?

We'll repair it, send a replacement part, or rebuild the piece. We decide which fix suits the problem, and we pay for the parts, the work and shipping them to you. If none of those is practical, we'll refund what you paid for the piece. A repair or replacement doesn't restart the one-year period.

What isn't covered by the warranty?

The natural character of solid wood (knots, grain and color that vary, dents and scratches, color that changes with light, and seasonal movement, including hairline gaps); water damage, including from standing water, leaks or a raw piece that wasn't sealed; damage from heat, sun or extreme humidity; outdoor use; accidents, misuse, overloading, pets, or moving the piece after delivery; installation, mounting and anchoring (tall pieces must be anchored to the wall); repairs or changes by anyone else; sinks, tops, faucets, plumbing, or parts you supplied; fit, when the piece was built to measurements or a design you gave or approved; and normal wear.

What if my piece arrives damaged, or I need to make a warranty claim?

Shipping damage is covered by the shipping insurance, not the warranty. Photograph it before unpacking any further and message us within 3 days of delivery. For a warranty claim, message us here on Etsy before the year is up, with your order number, what's wrong and photos. Please don't repair the piece or take it apart first. If we need the piece or a part back, we'll arrange that shipping and pay for it.

What are the warranty's limits?

This is a limited warranty. Implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, last only as long as this one-year warranty, and we aren't responsible for incidental or consequential damages, such as the cost of installing or removing a piece, or damage to other property. Some states don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state.

This is not reclaimed wood, but reach out for a custom quote if you'd like reclaimed wood.

MOUNTING HARDWARE
Screws and anchors are not included. You'll likely need wood screws to mount into wall studs, or anchors to mount into drywall. If you can't mount directly into studs, choose anchors rated for the weight of the shelves.
