Jewellery purchased from my shop is handmade and designed to withstand normal, everyday activities. It is safe as long as it is used exclusively for its intended purpose - as jewellery - and when all care and safety instructions are followed. I always inspect the jewellery before shipping to make sure that it is in a perfect condition. Please read the guidelines below carefully.

WHO IS THE JEWELLERY INTENDED FOR?
• Jewellery in my shop is intended for adult use only. Keep it away from children, vulnerable adults and pets.

ALLERGY AND SKIN CONTACT INFORMATION:
• The sterling silver jewellery in my shop is nickel free.
• Sterling silver is an alloy containing at least 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. While sterling silver is generally hypoallergenic, some individuals may be sensitive to the silver or copper content in the alloy.
• Skin Sensitivity: Avoid wearing the jewellery over broken or irritated skin to prevent discomfort or infection.
• Natural stones may contain trace elements that could cause rare allergic reactions in sensitive individuals.
• If you experience symptoms such as rash, itching or irritation, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare provider.

CHOKING, STRANGULATION AND INGESTION HAZARDS:
• Keep jewellery out of reach of children, vulnerable adults, and pets to prevent choking, strangulation or accidental ingestion.
• Remove jewellery while sleeping to prevent accidental entanglement or damage.

TOXICITY OF STONES:
The gemstone jewellery in my shop is safe to wear and handle, as long as it is not: ingested, inhaled e.g., in powdered form), or exposed to prolonged or excessive contact with water or chemicals.

• Gemstones are composed of variety of elements, including minerals, metals and organic material, some of which may be harmful if ingested or inhaled.
• Do not file, grind, or reshape the stone, as this can release harmful dust.
• Ensure that children, vulnerable adults or pets do not chew, suck or lick the jewellery, as the stones may release trace amounts of toxic elements.
• Avoid exposure to water, sweat or chemicals (e.g. lotions, perfumes, household cleaners). Take off the jewellery before washing, showering, bathing, swimming, sauna, exercise or during strenuous activities that may cause sweating.
• If a stone or part of the necklace is accidentally ingested, seek medical attention.

GENERAL USAGE AND HANDLING:
• Some elements of the jewellery, such as prongs, chains and clasps, can be delicate. These may accidentally catch on clothing or other objects, potentially causing breakage.
• Regularly inspect your jewellery for: loose links in the chain, a broken clasp, sharp edges, or other signs of damage. If damaged, avoid wearing the jewellery and consult a jeweler.
• Although sterling silver is durable, it can still bend or brake under excessive force.
• Avoid pulling, bending, or adding heavy pendants to the chain, as this can stress the links and cause breakage.
• Always ensure the clasp is securely fastened to prevent accidental loss or injury.
• Periodically check for loose stones to prevent accidents or loss.
• Handle jewellery with care, as dropping it may cause stones to crack or break, resulting in sharp edges or fragments that could cause injury.
• If breakage occurs: collect and dispose of broken pieces responsibly (e.g., using protective gloves).
• Ensure all fragments, beads, or components are collected to prevent accidents such as tripping or ingestion by children or pets.
• Take care when putting on or removing necklace to prevent tangling or damage.
• Remove jewellery during activities that may expose it to excessive force (e.g., sports), chemicals, or abrasion to reduce the risk of injury or damage.
• Raw stones: Unlike polished stones, raw stones have uneven and rough surfaces. Be cautious when wearing such pendants against bare skin, as rough surfaces may scratch or irritate sensitive areas. If needed, wear such jewellery over clothing.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE:
• Avoid exposure to water, sweat or chemicals (e.g. lotions, perfumes, household cleaners) as this may tarnish the silver and damage the stone. Take off the jewellery before washing, showering, bathing, swimming, sauna, exercise or during strenuous activities that may cause sweating.
• Clean the jewellery with a dry soft cloth. Be gentle with oxidized – darkened areas to avoid rubbing off the finish.
• Avoid abrasive cleaners or ultrasonic jewellery cleaners as these may damage the stones.
• If needed, use a silver cleaning product to remove tarnish, ensure it does not come into contact with the stones. Do not use such product on gold plated or gold-filled jewellery.
• Store jewellery in a soft pouch or a jewellery box when not in use to prevent scratches.
• Protect jewellery from heavy impacts or dropping, as this may crack or chip the stones.
