About the Base

Not just any kid mohair... Superkid mohair yarn is produced from fiber acquired from the mohair goat’s first shearing, ensuring the softest and finest grade of mohair fiber available. This base is often used held double with other yarn weights to add a dreamy halo or hazy effect to projects and a bit of extra warmth without the extra weight. Pair tonal colorways with variegated main yarns or vice versa to create interesting color effects.

Recommended Care: Handmade items are special and should be treated as such. Although superwash wool can be machine washed, hand washing is definitely preferred. Use a gentle wool wash and cool water. Lay flat to air dry.

Although I take great care to make sure my dyes are well set into the fiber, it is normal for there to be some minor bleeding when rinsing hand dyed yarn. However, if you are experiencing any issues please contact me.

I use professional grade acid dyes, and work in a smoke-free, pet-free dedicated dye studio. I acquire my yarn bases from suppliers who uphold a commitment to ethical farming and production practices.
