This is my most popular size fireplace mantel actual size is 7.25" high x 8"” deep. I can custom make a deeper too. The wood is distressed, the edges are grinded to imitate wear and tear, wire wheeled to raise the grain, run over with a chain saw to give the rough sawn look, lightly sanded to show aged wear and finally scorched with a flame to add character, age and bring out the grain. The weight is from 16 to 27 LBS. The fireplace mantel secures to the wall with a mounting bracket and heavy-duty butterfly type drywall toggle anchors (provided). All mounting parts are included. Disclaimer regarding color: Distressed wood absorbs more stain and comes out darker. You may choose a color from my samples which reflect how the stain normally looks on distressed wood.
