Natural fabric labels, printed in color and cut to size, customized with your logo, image, or text.

These custom labels are printed on very finely woven, undyed (natural colored), GOTS certified 100% organic cotton and set on the bias of the fabric, so they will not unravel and are soft and supple. They're a bit thicker than quilting cotton, but as smooth as the softest bed sheet. They're ready to be set into a seam or sewn onto the outside of a garment or quilt or anything you like.

Upload your image by attaching it to a message here on Etsy (that's the preferred method) or emailing it to maydaylabels [!at] gmail.com. Let me know any text you want printed in notes to maydaylabels at the end of checkout. Also tell me what size you want the labels to be in notes to maydaylabels or via message.

The labels pictured are examples of some we've printed in the past; we can print with any number of colors and in virtually any size.

The size you select will determine how many labels are printed per sheet; here are the sizes of the labels in the main photo (top to bottom) and how many they yield per sheet:

1" x 1" - 75 labels
1.5" x 1" - 50 labels
2" x 1" - 37 labels
2" x .5" - 80 labels
2.5" x 1.5" - 20 labels
2" x 1" - 37 labels
1.5" x 1.5" - 33 labels

If you'd prefer iron on labels instead of sew on, just choose "iron on" (you can still sew through these) from the drop-down menu.

The labels are machine washable and dryable; they won't fade away with normal washing and can be ironed without harm. The iron on labels are also machine washable and will not come off.

Sure! Send us a conversation requesting a proof, and we'll make you as many digital proofs as you need to get your labels just right. A caution, however: we're not graphic designers. If you need more complicated design work than our skills allow, we recommend WinchesterLambourne (https://www.etsy.com/listing/68964724/custom-label-design-label-graphic). She's nice and very talented :)

We have one listing for uncut labels (it is $10 cheaper than labels cut to size) and an option for uncut labels in a few other listings. 98% of our listings are for labels are cut to size. We are happy to make any of our labels as uncut sheets, though. If you want to order a listing as uncut instead of cut to size, just purchase the uncut listing and tell me in the notes section which designs you want us to print (as well as any other details, like font, text, and label size).

There is a limited initial fade, as with all labels printed on cotton. It's kind of like washing a new pair of blue jeans. After that the color holds steady, and labels are still legible for several years. The edges of sew on labels will fuzz slightly but will not unravel, as they are printed on the bias of a very finely woven cotton. If you want a completely clean look, you can dip the sides of the labels in fray check. Iron on labels do not fuzz.
