For your consideration here we have a 1872 $5 Dollar Bill State of South Carolina Columbia Revenue Bond Scrip Obsolete Banknote PMG 64 EPQ Collectible US Civil War Historical Currency. The scene in the top center of this note is General Francis Marion's sweet potato meal. Marion was a Brigadier General in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War and was known as the "Swamp Fox." In the scene he is offering a British Officer a meal, this apparently after a prisoner exchange. In the bottom left of the note is an image of Thomas Sumter who was a Virginian that served as a Brigadier General in SC during the American Revolution. The bottom right image appears to be William Moultrie who was a General during the American Revolution and Governor of South Carolina.
