G Minor Native American Style Beginner Flute and Cloth Pouch Bag

• Materials: wood glue, salvaged yellow cedar wood, red aromatic cedar, upcycled suede, imitation bear fat grease, cloth material, sewing thread, braided cotton nylon cord string

This Native American style beginner flute is made of Yellow Cedar wood. The flute is tuned to the key of G minor @ 432hz. The bird or totem is Red Aromatic Cedar and is secured to the flute with a up cycled suede lace tie. The flute is finished with an artificial "bear fat grease" made of beeswax, coconut oil, tea tree oil, clove oil, and peppermint oil.
The yellow cedar used to make these "beginner flutes" is salvaged interior siding. Yellow cedar is generally a soft wood, to harden the wood and accentuate the wood grain I burn or scorch the flute using a propane torch.

This flute measures 21 inches in length, has a 7/8 inch bore and weighs 5 ounces. The distance from the embouchure/ mouthpiece to the first or top finger hole is 10 5/16 inches. All finger holes are spaced approximately 1 inch apart and the largest finger hole diameter is 5/16 inches.

My process(es) of making the various sound & finger holes are to measure, mark and drill them with a 3/32" bit. These sound & finger holes are then shaped and enlarged using various designs and diameter size steel rods that are heated up to burn out the various holes.

A custom made cloth carry bag/pouch is included. The bag/pouch features a drawstring to close the pouch, a sling strap to carry over the shoulder and a loop strap to wear on a belt. Please allow for variation in color and material used for cloth bag pouch. With purchase I also include a flute care sheet with playing instructions, various scales to play on the flute and an expansive fingering chart.

The sound of this flute is very clear, sort of breathy with excellent volume, and rich tone.

A note about the tuning of this flute; I tune my flutes as close as I can to perfect pitch or "concert tuning." Changes in environments, temperature, humidity as well as the amount of air blown into the flute will cause changes in the overall tuning of the flute and note to note. The sound of the flute is tested over and over again from start to finish to ensure tonal quality.
