Seller's description

🦐 NATURAL ORDER: A GAME OF PAIRS🐟

A family-friendly memory game that matches symbiotic relationships! Artist made deck printed from hand-drawn illustrations on sustainable paper.

"Natural Order: A Game of Pairs" is a matching card game that plays like the game of Memory, but with a key mechanical twist. Rather than matching identical pictures, players are challenged to match ecological partners (i.e. clown fish and sea anemone). However, the twist does not stop there. Players learn not only about mutual partnerships, but also about commensal and parasitic bonds in order to better understand the diversity of relationships that bring order to the natural world.

Each game include 46 cards with printed illustrations made from original hand-drawn images on sustainable & eco friendly matte laminated smooth finish Eco Herbage paper. The deck includes 30 hand drawn animal cards (15 unique pairs) with decorative patterns on back, 15 environmental education flash cards describing each symbiotic relationship with hand drawn animal pairings on front, and a gameplay instruction card. Ships shrink wrapped and comes with a belly band around the deck for added protection.

This memory game is suited for both kids and adults with interest in expanding their knowledge of the natural world. It makes a great gift for kid's birthdays and holidays, teachers and homeschoolers, eco-conscious parents, and ecology and nature lovers alike! It is also a fun exercise for testing visual memory and concentration, and is a great educational tool and cognitive activity for all ages.

Players: 1-2
Ages: 8+
Time: 20-30 minutes
Gameplay: Flip the cards to match the host with its symbiont. Advanced option: To claim the pair, players must correctly identify the relationship type (Mutualism, Parasitism, or Commensalism).

Box is 4.5” x 3.5” x 1.5”

This little card game is a beautiful item that arrived swiftly (despite the start of the busy holiday season) in careful packaging. It's a pleasure to find an idea for a gift that is original and made with such thoughtfulness and skill. The seller/artist is responsive to inquiries and a pleasure to correspond with. (If her unique "Sea Change" Handmade Ephemera Books are still available, you should check that item out as well: it's lovely!) Most of all, I'm grateful that she's made her exquisite work available and accessible through this Etsy shop. It's so nice to have the opportunity to have something this well-made to hold, enjoy, and give to others. Thanks!
