RARE 1900s antique Edwardian black cotton floral bodice and skirt. A truly heart stopping antique gown with the finest details. Crisp black sheer cotton with a pale lavender and ivory floral print. High neckline trimmed in black silk ribbon with bows art the back of the neck. The inner bodice is constructed of sturdy black polished cotton with sewn in stays. Metal hook and eye closure at the front. Over the inner bodice is a black cotton pin-tuck pleated pigeon breast blouse. The attached blouse has a lot of volume at the front- creating the ubiquitous S-Curve of the time. Attached over the black blouse is a the sheer black floral bodice with pleating and black lace trim at the upper bodice. Long slim black sleeves with extreme leg of mutton voluminous sheer sleeves over the top. Structured cuffs with lace trim. Nipped waist with a black satin ribbon. The center back of the bodice is delicately pleated. There are metal hooks and eyes at the waist that attach the bodice to the skirt. Beautiful full skirt with a black cotton lining and sheer black floral cotton overlay. Hooks and eyes at the back waist. The front of the skirt is fairly simple, falling to the floor in a fluid A line. Ruffle tier and lace trim at the hem. The back of the skirt shows pleats and volume at center back. The skirt does have a pocket.

{ CONDITION }
Fair Condition- This set is wearable as is. It is not extremely fragile, but should be worn with care as any antique garment should. It has not been laundered.
-There are several small holes in the sheer cotton layer.
-Some of the metal hooks are corroded.
-There has been a repair on the inside bodice, at the front.
-Hook and eye at the back neck and front waist are missing
-There have been repairs at the ruffle hem on the skirt.
-There is a hole in one area of the ruffle hem of the skirt, this is not very noticeable as there is a second layer underneath that diffuses it.
-There have been repairs at the back waist band
-There have been repairs inside the lining of the skirt.

As Found- Damaged and flawed. Possibly structurally compromised. May need repairs/restoration before wearing.
Study Piece- Not wearable. Best for study, pattern making, salvage.
All garments are shipped with minimal packaging to reduce waste. Your order will likely ship wrapped in acid-free archival tissue paper packed in a poly mailer.
