I’m having trouble getting my file to cut correctly. What are the correct settings?

Our files have been designed and tested on the Glowforge Laser. The settings we used during the design process were tested on a Glowforge Basic. With that in mind, every laser is unique and setting may vary depending on the type you have and the material you are using.

How do I re-size my file?

You will need do any re-sizing in whatever software program you use with your laser. Some of these programs include Inkscape, Lightburn, and Silhouette business edition. Each of these programs has the capability to do this, but you will need to have a basic understanding of your program to do any re-sizing.

This file is provided in SVG format and contain the design for the “Salem Broom Co" sign measuring approximately 11x16" in size.

This sign comes with an engraved and scored backer -- the scored portion can be used as a template for placement of the frame portion. The lettering portion can be cut and used a template for letter placement.

This file has been set up with red = cut, blue = engrave and purple = score.

This has been tested on a Glowforge and Mira 7, but can be used on other lasers as well as various vinyl cutters (with some modification if cutting vinyl).

This design contains the backer and overlay portions and all fits nicely on approximately 2 Glowforge sized sheets, but is scalable in your design software as required.
