I have been doing leatherwork since 2016 after working as a graphic designer since 1998.

Size: about 9" in diameter and 10" tall.

This is a small basket, good for Easter eggs, fruits, bread, or just carrying your stuff around the house from room to room (like I sometimes need to carry my phone, charger, cigarettes, lighter, etc from the living room to bedroom and back).

What you are gonna need:

Tools
Knife or scissors, stitching irons, maul or mallet, pair of harness needles, waxed thread. Burnishing agent, burnisher, and sandpaper.

Materials
2 pieces of leather, for the inner side (lining) something thick and stiff like 5-7 oz, for the outer layer 3-4 oz.

On the pattern, the body and lining are the same, so no big deal if you confuse them.

Mini Basket (smaller one):
Small hanging organizer with beautiful lines can be assembled in a few hours and would be a useful and stylish addition for any interior. It also stands on its own so you can either hang it or put it on the table. Useful as a decoration filled with dry flowers or as a pencil or tool holder.

Dimensions: 8" x 4" x 2.5"


Materials:

Leather should be stiff. As there are 2 layers, it’s not too critical how thick it is gonna be, I used the 5 oz veg and 4 oz crazy horse. If you have a really heavy leather with polished flesh side you can use just one layer (use the Outer Layer part). It will be easier to stitch if the inner layer will be thinner than the outer.
Hardware:

1 x button stud.
You can use anything else instead, a snap for example.

Tools:

Scissors, knife (paper knife or rotary cutter would also work).
Stitching irons: my pattern is made for 5 SPI stitching irons (5 stitches per inch).
Needles - according to your thread size, a pair of harness needles.
Mallet, hole punch.
Burnishing agent and burnisher (optional but desirable)

The pattern has stitching holes marked for 5 SPI stitching irons (5 stitches per inch, or approximately 5.2 mm). 5 mm stitching irons made by metric system sometimes fit, sometimes they don’t (depending on manufacturer). If you have 5 mm irons and the spacing seems a tad too large for them you can print the pattern at 96.2% scale. I advise to print one page and try your irons to see how they fit before printing the entire pattern.
