Linocut is an art technique of hand carving a desired shape (mirrored) on linoleum tile. It's time consuming process that doesn't forgive mistakes. The errors such as careless chisel cutting or badly planned lines are very hard or even impossible to undo and you have to start everything again (or at least cut out the entire defective piece of lino). After that the ink is carefully applied onto linoleum with the special roller. Its very important to control the amount of the ink on roller and linoleum and keep an eye on even distribution of ink on lino. The last phase is the careful pressing the ink onto paper. There are few tools to do it: spoons, special barens or professional presses. The print need to dry right amount of time depending of used ink.
