Manzanita Burl Dry Vase - Barely There (Swan-Series) - 16.5"h x 6.5"d

The Swan-series are pieces that remind you of the regal bird with long neck and proud breast. I could see what was coming when I found the raw piece - which was uniquely perfect in shape. It was a challenge to turn, but well worth the effort because the piece is something you can 'build a room around.' Finding that perfection - is the goal of this artist!

This piece was a mix of underground burl and bent main stem manzanita.

The Barely There forms are a new series created by Paul Russell Designs. The illusion of the vase is that it is barely there but has the form of a vase. Each piece is unique created from a wood elbow, burl or other unique piece of wood.

Twig pots offer a unique accent to any room. Twig pots are a dry vase also known as a bud vase or weed pot. As the name(s) imply they are a vase filled with dried flowers, twigs, sticks or weeds, or some other discerning content. Some are intended to be a bit more refined, and others a bit more rough and rugged looking, and each is unique. The wood is reclaimed and intentionally weathered. Additionally, the wood used for turning a twig pot will intentionally utilize wood figure, burl, cracks, bark, moss, roots, bug trails, decay or other features of the wood as decorative elements. Surprisingly, they can be used in a variety of home styles to add contrast and are very versatile.
