This live edge wood slice was burned by hand and features a pine tree with roots. The grain on the wood mimics a sunset behind the tree. The tree of life represents so much and can mean so many different things to different people. For me, the tree with its branches represents the differences between us, but the roots reveal that there is still a connection, even as we grow/change. What does the tree of life represent for you?

This is the perfect gift for any occasion especially for the eco conscious since it is made from natural material!

How it’s made
I use a hot wire pen to burn this image onto the wood slice. No laser printers here! Rest assured that hard work and love was put into your piece. I use a high gloss polyacrylic finish to seal the wood. This will protect the piece from general wear and tear, but it will not protect it from water, sun exposure, or dropping. My favorite part to burn on this piece is the tree roots. It is tedious and you have to be precise. I find beauty in the fine details and I believe that is what makes this piece so unique.

I love making custom or personalized items! I will send you a preview of your custom piece before I wood burn it. After your approval, I will wood burn the piece. Corrections/changes are not possible after I have wood burned the piece. Please be certain that you are happy with my draft before approving. If you aren't sure what to customize, reach out to me! I will gladly help you with ideas/inspiration.

Many items in my shop are made to order!

For pyrography: I use natural wood slices with a live edge. As you can imagine, each slice of wood is unique. Please keep this in mind when placing an order from my shop. I will try my best to keep the dimensions the same as the sample photo, but variations in the wood grain and bark are unavoidable.

For macrame: I use driftwood gathered from nature. Please keep this in mind when ordering a macrame piece. The length of the driftwood may vary.

All of my pyrography pieces are sprayed with polycrylic protective finish. This is a clear coat solution that will extend the life of the wood slice and pyrography. It does not protect against water. If you plan on using the item as a coaster, please let me know! I can use a different clear coat solution that can help extend the life of the piece. I do not recommend hanging any of my pieces outside where they would be exposed to the elements. Please reach out to me if you have any questions! I can make items specifically for outdoor use, but I will need to use a different finishing solution.

Deserves way more than 5 stars. I was looking for something that would remind me of what I hold sacred in life and this really fit the bill. Such skill and precision to make all the grass and burn around to leave the light colored roots. It looks very striking on my wall in the best way. Plus the artist gets it right about how the roots are equally as wide and significant as the branches, which many artists don't.
