Mackinaw wool cruiser jacket in bright scarlet red/black plaid vintage early 1950s Union Made diamond tag genuine Filson garment 100% virgin wool, crafted from durable wool in an uncommonly tight weave that turns away wind while remaining highly breathable, four flapped pockets on the front and a full-width pocket the entire back, button-down front and button cuffs, with a relaxed fit—you may wear midweight layers underneath.

(1940s–1950s FILSON OFFSET POCKETS
the upper and lower pockets on the left side of the modern Filson Cruisers are both the same width and are often made by stretching a strip of pockets over the fabric of the jacket and sewing it in place. however, the lower pocket—which typically houses the compass pocket—was made separately from the other pockets on the jacket during the 1950s and had a somewhat smaller width. the bottom pocket was somewhat misaligned from the bigger pocket above as they were stitched into place. although the offset pockets alone do not indicate a certain date, you can often infer that the use of the offset pockets places the clothing in the 1940s–1950s.
inside the upper right pocket of the clothing, you'll discover the clothing Garment Workers Union Tag, the Union Made tag was converted to the Dry Clean Only Tag in the early 1970s.)


in IMPERFECT condition, showing normal signs of wear for age and use, with flaws and sins: scattered darkish spots on both sleeves, a couple distressed button holes, and a couple breaks at the back left shoulder blade area. AS IS
