How do I install the shift knobs in my truck?

3rd Gen Tacoma: To install the shift knobs you simply remove the exist shift knob, thread on the new shift knob until snug, roughly 13-15 full turns, and then clip the chrome clip to the bottom of the shift knob. Ball Style Shift knobs on 3rd Gen Tacoma: Watch this video for reference on how to remove the center console and install a boot adapter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soD0OiXHSBA Then simply thread on the shift knob, roughly 13-15 turns. Align the set screw hole with the set screw on the boot adapter and tighten the set screw against the rod. 2nd Gen Tacoma: To install the shift knobs you simply remove the exist shift knob, thread on the new shift knob until snug, roughly 13-15 full turns, and tighten the set screw.

Mod that Taco out today with a rugged knurled aftermarket shift knob.
Fits 3rd Generation (2016-2023) Toyota Tacomas with Automatic Transmission.

These are made out of ASA which is very tough, chemically resistant, and will not degrade in the sunlight. It integrates easily onto your existing Tacoma transmission rod. This one has a textured finish on the bottom and top to hide seam lines and give it an extra rugged look.

The threads should be tightened down until they are fully engaged. Then align the lever with the top of the mountains facing forward and snap the boot onto the clip.

***CUSTOM LOGO OPTION***
If a custom logo on top is wanted please choose the "Custom Logo" option and send me a message with the details of what you want the logo to be and an image if you have something specific in mind. Without a message I will not be able to process your order. Avoid using images that have a trademark or copyright.

***THREADS***
If threads begin to come loose over time use a little bit of low strength glue (wood glue, etc.) applied to the threads to keep it in place. DO NOT use thread locker as it will off gas and ruin the plastic.
You will find on a hot day the knob will seem loose, this is because the heat will expand the plastic and create less interference. This is where the glue will come in handy.
